Touring skis
The typical ski for a summit trip is a lighter ski. The companies produce lighter materials and the bindings and boots for the summit trip are significantly lighter today.
All this to make it easier when you get to go up the mountain instead of using a lift, scooter, helicopter or anything else that does not use your legs.
Reducing the weight of all equipment makes them longer trips.
During summit trips, it is easier to have good shoes and good skins.
